misc1If you aren't following Department of Defense and EPA guidelines to properly dispose of old PCs and monitors, your company data may get into the wrong hands and cause you irreparable harm.

And, unbelievably, your CEO could be fined $10,000 a day

Without proper, guaranteed erasure and disposal, your company data and equipment could end up in the hands of dishonest people or in a landfill.

Even if you take the time to format hard drives (to protect company data and honor your software licensing restrictions) before offering the equipment to employees or a charity, is your sensitive data REALLY secure? All it takes is some $99 software and instructions from an unscrupulous website (there are lots out there) to resurrect data on hard drives. Any competitor, disgruntled employee, or identity thief can-and has-done it.
